Phentermine is one of the least expensive prescription options for weight loss. At PhySlim Tallahassee it is prescribed only after an in-person evaluation, at the lowest dose that works, with blood pressure and heart rate checked at follow-up.
Phentermine is a Schedule IV controlled substance. Florida’s standards for prescribing weight-loss medication (Fla. Admin. Code R. 64B8-9.012) set clear requirements, and we follow each one:
We start phentermine in person, never over video.
Phentermine is a generic and one of the least expensive options in weight medicine: $1 per tablet — $30 for a 30-day supply. Add the visit: $99 for the new patient visit, $60 for follow-ups. We accept HSA and FSA cards, CareCredit, and all major credit and debit cards.
Phentermine is a stimulant that reduces appetite and costs far less. Semaglutide and tirzepatide work differently, usually produce more weight loss, and cost more per month. People with uncontrolled blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism or anxiety disorders are often better served by another option. See GLP-1 weight loss in Tallahassee, or our full phentermine and topiramate guide.
At PhySlim Tallahassee, 1338 Timberlane Rd, after an in-person evaluation.
For the right patient, at a monitored dose, yes. It is not appropriate for everyone — that is what the first visit is for.
Dry mouth leads many people to drink more, and constipation is common and manageable. Tell us early.
It depends on how you respond. Florida requires us to re-evaluate you at least every 3 months while you are on it, and we check in more often than that.
It can cause a positive amphetamine screen. Tell the testing lab about your prescription.
