Text Message (SMS) Communications

What we use text messaging for. If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may use it to send appointment reminders and scheduling messages, respond to questions you send us, share practice updates, send billing or account notices, and occasionally invite you to share feedback about your experience or leave a review. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of receiving care or of purchasing any product or service, and you may decline or withdraw it at any time without affecting your treatment.

Our text line works in both directions. We maintain a staffed text line that you may use to reach us. If you send us a message, a member of our team may read and respond to it. You are welcome to use it, and many of our patients prefer it.

Text messaging is not a secure channel. Standard SMS is not encrypted. Messages can be seen by anyone with access to your phone, may be stored by your mobile carrier, and can be delivered to a wrong number if a number is mistyped or reassigned. When you choose to text us about your care, you are choosing a convenient channel over a private one, and you accept that trade-off. We ask that you keep messages brief and general, and we will move any detailed clinical discussion to a phone call, a secure message, or an office visit.

What we do on our side. Messages we originate are kept general. We do not include diagnoses, medication names, test results, or clinical detail in the messages we send you. If we need to reach you about something specific, we will ask you to call us or come in rather than putting it in a text.

You can ask us to reach you another way. You may ask us at any time to contact you only by phone, by mail, at a particular number, or at a particular time, and we will accommodate reasonable requests. Just tell any member of our staff, or call the office.

Consent, and what we never do with it. We send text messages only to people who have opted in — by submitting a mobile number through a form on our website, by giving it to our staff and agreeing to receive texts, or through another consent method we offer. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your SMS consent status with any third party for their own marketing purposes. We share your number only with the service providers who transmit messages for us — our messaging platform and the telephone carriers — and only so that they can deliver those messages. This paragraph governs SMS specifically and overrides any more general data-sharing language elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

Stopping messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. We will send one confirmation and then stop, unless you opt in again later. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at info@physlim.com or 770-343-7165. Opting out of texts does not remove you as a patient and does not affect your care.

Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
